crop circles 2023 :: WAYLAND’S SMITHY, NR ASHBURY, OXFORDSHIRE

Maybe you have to return to the source. Get back to your roots. Look at where it all started. Trace the line back to the beginning.

This season seems to be encouraging us to look back to years gone by. The point being? For me, this certainly smacks of remembering that irrespective of whether you think this is aliens or artists, you do not get to dictate or expect what appears in the fields. Arguments about complexity, geometry or quality are meaningless. The art is a reflection of the artist. Art made purely for a particular audience lacks any soul. You get what you’re given: accept or reject, but never expect.

This formation is the logo to the long defunct Centre For Crop Circle Studies. It certainly reminded me of the heady days in the 1990s where research into crop circles was all the rage, with magazines or periodicals popping up to report all the latest findings.
